Weekend Wanderings #26: Weird & Wonderful Wisconsin!🧀🎠

Hi! Happy Friday from Forest Heights in beautiful Athens, Georgia.💚🦌

I’m turning 40 in a few days, so it seemed like a good time to reflect on my favorite birthday of all time — when I road-tripped through the magical state of ✨🧀Wisconsin🧀✨. In typical fashion, my boyfriend and I crammed 30 hours of driving into a 3-day weekend. I took 500+ photos on this jam-packed trip and years later, I still haven’t sifted through everything!

I dream of going back to see the Apostle Islands, the Kohler Arts Center, Forevertron, the Wisconsin Concrete Park, the Dickeyville Grotto… ugh, there’s just so much there! Here are just a few amazing highlights:

• The House on the Rock: the ultimate roadside attraction and my favorite place in the entire country 🐋

• FAST’s Fiberglass Mold Graveyard: where larger-than-life ice cream cones, teddy bears and sharks rot away in a field 🧸

• Nick Engelbert’s Grandview: an incredible folk art sculpture garden 🧜‍♂️
